Proudly Talented – A Queer Talent Showcase

Thu, 21 September, 2023 (7:00pm - 10:00pm)
Two Brewers
Two Brewers, Clapham High Street, London, UK

About

Are you ready for London’s brand new queer talent showcase, that will bring many award-winning and up and coming queer talents together? From musicians to spoke word artists, dancers to many other live art representatives, Proudly Talented is finally back in the ‘physical realm’ after its huge success back in lockdown days.

Hosted by London’s very own Beyond OZ (beyondozmusic), Proudly Talented will see an avalanche of talent showcasing what’s best about our creative queer community. From power ballads to dance tunes, captivating spoken word catch phrases to breath taking dance breaks, we can’t wait to lay the groundwork of this event to make it a regular sensation. “It’s incredible that after three years, we’ve found the right venue and the right people to bring Proudly Talented back into the real world” says Beyond OZ, who organised a series of online shows back in June 2020.

Proudly Talented is an exclusive showcase night where five (or more) incredible headliners will grace our stage and showcase both original and some cover material by reminding us how incredible and passionate our queer creative scene has become in London and beyond. It’s no surprise that being an artist on its own is a challenging life, that’s why we are proud and excited to be able to give all these phenomenal artists a platform where they can embalm their legacies, reach out to new audiences and contribute to the continuation of queer live art.

Launching on 21st September, our first ever lineup will see some of the most incredible names from London’s queer music scene. Janethan, JR, Natalie Gray, Rhian!, Andrea Di Giovanni and Venn Smyth will be there to take Two Brewers by storm.

Quotes about the show:

Exactly what we needed in these worrying days, an incredible showcase that has reminded all of us that queer live art lives at the heart of everything we love about our community” – (Melisa S. , June 2020)

This was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time, I can’t imagine how this will look like once the bars and venues are open again” – Alex Moudiotis – (June 2020)

I am so delighted to see this event making a comeback – this time in person! A true celebration of Queer Talent – Ian Massa-Harris-McFeely – Voice and Musical Theatre Lecturer – Former Pride in London founding member and creator of Pride’s Got Talent (July, 2023)

Quotes about your host:

“Outrageously talented. Covers, Originals- Name it- he’ll do it and maybe more! Beyond OZ is both eye candy and an aural pleasure” Dee Chanelle, Trans Artist Singer/Songwriter

“Oz is one to watch. A hugely creative artist and promoter who knows, as a host of music events, how to bring out the best in other artists and as a promoter to create and drive successful events. A rare thing in our industry.” Catia C. – Programmer and Producer – Two Brewers, Brewers Manch & Village Soho
