About

This is the need: that for a few beats, or thousands, I’m not. Not here. Not anywhere… A trans body homing in on its own estrangement, losing itself, in these alien beats, among this xeno-flesh.” (McKenzie Wark, Raving)
What is your need? Your need to party, to rave?

FLOWERS is a queer club night created for those who seek comfort, release and communion in the dance.

To party is a collective practice as important as any other. A practice in the possible. A practice in world-building. A practice in cultivating a communal language of sound, movement and sociability.

As we step into the garden once again, come as you are, wherever you’re at, open to the transformative potential of ravespace.

DJs:

ANJALI (they/she) (@fossafossa)

anjali is an acadian-punjabi cultural producer, yoga teacher & DJ. Their work focusses on collaboration, opportunities for underrepresented artists and alternative modes of making & being together. As a resident DJ with SISU, a platform for women & non-binary DJs & producers, they have been building up a portfolio of raucous multi-genre DJ sets. In the last year they have played for HÖR Berlin, Body Movements, Risen, Fabric, Colour Factory and more. They also co-run a party called ~ \\ LILITH // ~ with ex.sses & Lux.

Beth Metal (she/her) (@bethgmiles)

Based in London, Beth Metal melds a mix of genres from garage, house, funky, bassline and your fave club classics. If it’s got a hi-hat that slaps you around the face, she’s playing it. Bring comfy shoes, you’ll be dancing.

winn (they/them) (@charlie_winn)

South London-based DJ winn fuses deconstructed club, ethereal pop edits, sensual R&B and gritty UK bass to cultivate an ever-shifting collage of feeling and sound. Their sets evoke a sense of nostalgia for past underground scenes whilst also keeping one ear on future soundz.

Petra Von Kunt (they/them) (@jstnwhite)

Petra von Kunt’s DJ origin story lies in the suburbs of Los Angeles playing an underground middle-school homecoming party, which sparked a wave of controversy amongst the local PTA. After a hiatus and unsuccessful push to gain public attention as a long-lost member of the Finnish Royal Family during the pandemic (an entirely virtual endeavour), they are back on the decks and ready to take London by storm. Expect genre-bending selections ranging from leftfield techno, to hyperpop club edits, to 90’s house.

Set Design and Visual Effects:

Nic Farr (they/them) (@nic_farrand Maya Stevenson (they/them) (@mayathings_)

Digital Design:

Mars West (they/them) (@mars__west)
